The works displayed in this gallery have entered the collection of
the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo thanks to a recent donation
made by the gallerist Juana de Aizpuru. They are pieces by Spanish
artists, all born in or somehow linked to Andalusia, and produced
between the late 1960s and the first decade of the 21st century. All
the artists have been represented by the Juana de Aizpuru Gallery
at some point in the four decades of this internationally renowned
gallerist's career, and several were with her when she first opened
her Seville gallery in 1970.
The works are currently being studied
and classified in relation to the rest of the CAAC collection. In
the meantime, these pieces have been included in the exhibition in
strict chronological order, providing valuable clues to the evolution
of Andalusian art over the decades. The group includes works inspired
by Constructivism, gestural art, folk art and different brands of
conceptualism which undoubtedly enrich the museum's collection.
